Do you know
someone who has reached his first job interview so well prepared, so relaxed,
and so compelling that it has achieved the employment by postulating? No? Are
you sure? Look closely, because I think that person is you, or rather, as you
will have read our five golden rules and our list of key recommendations to be
more than ready the day before a job interview.
Golden Rule
# 1: Know well and knows by heart your professional history
The
essential part of the interview is a critical part of the interviewer; test
your skills, your qualities and experiences. Therefore, it is essential that
you have a thread to develop your argument. Be advised by your friends and
colleagues to help you take an objective view of yourself. "It is
essential to simulations explains an expert in human resources, so it is best
to train with a friend or alone, in front of a mirror, trying as you can get in
position." If it is your first job, it is made an argument about your
practices, associations which forms part or any kind of occupation either
professional or altruistic type.
Golden Rule
No. 2: Become a career plan and memorize the announcement for which you are
applying
Is
imperative that you get to the interview with a clear vision of why the
position interests you. You seem logical, right. However, it is not so because
that implies that you have developed a professional project, known what you
want for the future and you explain your ambitions when the interviewer ask you
questions. Between two candidates with the same powers, one who knows what he
wants and where it is heading the cake will be.
"Also
have to knowing you memory ad copy so that your partner sees that your
arguments are consistent with those of supply, "explains our consultant.”An
obvious parallel between the ad and your application is essential."
Golden Rule
# 3: Do not forget any material aspect
Psychologically
Now that you are ready, you must prepare the material aspect. Therefore, you
must know how to get to the rendezvous not to be late (needless to say the
importance of punctuality in these cases), and take with you a letter of
introduction and two curricula: one for you and one for the employer. If this
is your first job, also preparing the diplomas, certificates and letters of
recommendation you have. Finally, do not forget to take with an agenda where
you can note, if you come, your next appointment...
Golden Rule
# 4: You get the truth about the person of the company you are interviewing
"We
must know the company well before you introduce yourself to your interviewer,
and the more you know about both, calmer you will feel and more convincing results
and demonstrate without doubt your interest in the position.” Find out about
the company as well as on your industry and your organization. To be able to
find out the exact role of the person who will receive you, do not hesitate to
call the company and ask. If the position has reached your ears by means of
someone in your network, such contact will report on the person you are
interviewing.
Golden Rule
No. 5: prepare the questions you do
If you
respect the letter the golden rule # 1, you will have no problem to deal with
all questions of your interviewer, even the most unexpected as, what are its
main flaws? Alternatively, why you are interested in this position? However, it
is also essential that you have prepared the questions that you will do at the
end of the interview. What will work, what kind of organization, with what
equipment, what is the autonomy of the job, what they are the future trends? Etc...
These questions demonstrate your interest in the company. You can also ask for
the social benefits, as long as you are done with the above questions.
Trick to
consider: even if during the interview you realize you're not made for the job
in question, do not prove your apathy and keep your enthusiasm until the end,
because if you cause good impression, maybe the employer recommend you to other
posts later.
- List of recommendations before the interview
- Relax the day before doing sport or activity you enjoy
- Ask yourself a good night, without pressuring
- Dress to be comfortable and above all respect the codes of the business world
- Prepare an argument and your questions
- Make sure you have all the necessary materials (curriculum, calendar, diplomas, etc.)
- Be punctual and if you can, so do not stress yourself, you better be visualized in advance the location of the interview
Finally, the
most important thing is to get to the interview with an upbeat mood. Remember
that you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. In addition, the whole
interview even more disastrous, you can serve as training for the next!
